Florian Vollmer, MID is a designer, design leader, and educator focusing on the creation of meaningful, positive user experiences. His practice and teaching are centered around Service Design and Design Management – along with Corporate Identity, User-Centered Design, and Design Leadership.
Florian is our Senior Vice President of Design and Principal, and has been with the company since 2003. Firmly believing in the business-driving power of design, he focuses on working with his teams to help clients create engaging user experiences at all brand touchpoints.
He teaches "Service Design and Organizational Activation" as well as "Strategic Design Language" at the graduate level at Georgia Tech's Industrial Design program.
Originally from Essen, Germany, Florian holds a Master’s of Industrial Design from the Georgia Institute of Technology. His undergraduate studies led him to the Köln International School of Design, the Kunsthochschule Berlin Weißensee, and the University of Central England - BIAD Birmingham Institute of Art and Design.
His professional work includes a vast variety of projects, ranging from Corporate Identity Systems to Interactive Experiences to the design of Commercial Interior Environments.
Florian is a photographer, avid reader, a design philosopher, and speaks frequently to a variety of audiences. Vollmer is keenly interested in new ways of collaboration and educational models. Traveling frequently, he is grateful for the inspiration new places and environments bring.
